Bloemfontein - The appeal by President Jacob Zuma and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the spy tapes saga will be heard on September 15, the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein indicated on Friday.
On April 2016, a full bench of the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria overturned the NPA's decision to drop 783 corruption charges against Zuma.
It ordered that the charges be reinstated.
In June, the High Court denied the NPA and Zuma leave to appeal. The SCA, however, gave Zuma a lifeline when it granted him permission to argue why he should be permitted to appeal the matter.

The Constitutional Court in September said that it would not hear the NPA's appeal against the High Court ruling at present due to the pending SCA matter.
On April 6 2009, then-NPA head Mokotedi Mpshe said transcripts of telephone conversations between then-Scorpions boss Leonard McCarthy and former NPA boss Bulelani Ngcuka showed political interference in the decision to charge Zuma.
Dubbed the ''Spy Tapes" case, it concerns recordings that purportedly showed that there was political interference in the decision to charge Zuma in the first place in respect of allegations that he received a bribe facilitated by his former financial advisor Schabir Shaik from a bidder in a multi-billion rand arms deal.
The charges against Zuma were dropped in 2009 just before Zuma was sworn in for his first term as president, but the Democratic Alliance wanted the charges to be reinstated.
