Durban – Two boys drowned in the eZimbokodweni River in Durban on Monday afternoon, according to KwaZulu-Natal paramedics.
The two boys were seen in distress at around 16:00 by bystanders who then called for help, said KZN EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie.
With no sign of the boys, search and rescue police officers entered the water at the point they had last been seen.
Divers recovered their bodies at 18:30.
McKenzie said neither the boys' ages nor the exact circumstances around the incident were known at this stage.
