Durban businessman shot 3 times in the head

Durban - Police detectives are probing the hit-style slaying of a man who was shot as he left his Jacobs business premises in the early hours of Monday morning.

The man was understood to have been shot several times in the head in an apparent business robbery.

Police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said officers responded to a report of a shooting on Manchester Road after 06:00.

He said they arrived to discover the body of the man.

"A 57-year-old male was fatally shot by an unknown male while he was coming from work along Manchester Road, Jacobs," Zwane said.

"The suspect fled on foot and the victim sustained three gunshot wounds. The motive of the killing is unknown at this stage. Brighton Beach police are investigating a case of murder and no arrest has been made at this stage," he added.
