Butterworth – A funeral parlour owner who killed a mechanic for the alleged theft of a gearbox was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment by the Butterworth Regional Court, police said on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha said in a statement that 58-year-old Ngenisile Gxoyi, the owner of Gxoyi Funeral Services, accused Mfundo Ndlwana, 30, of stealing the gearbox from his car on April 25, 2012.
Manatha said Gxoyi went to Ndlwana's workshop at Ibika Industrial Area in Butterworth on the day of the alleged theft and shot him in his upper body.
