Joburg licensing dept cashiers arrested for fraud

Johannesburg – The Hawks arrested four licensing department cashiers for alleged fraud, Johannesburg metro police said on Tuesday.

They were arrested at the Sandton licensing department and the Martindale bulk licensing department, Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said.

The three men and one woman would face internal charges in addition to the criminal charges.

“More licensing officials are likely to be arrested soon for fraudulently selling vehicle licences, driving licences and vehicle registration documents.”
