Missing Limpopo boy's body found

Polokwane - A 9-year-old boy has been found dead after he was allegedly murdered by his mother’s boyfriend in Limpopo, police said on Monday.

Police said Katlego Lesenya had gone missing on Saturday.

Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Ronel Otto said the suspect had pointed out the area where he allegedly dumped the boy's body.

"He threw the body from a bridge into a shallow river on the Marken road between Mahwelereng and Lephalale in the Tinmines policing area. Members of K9 and the search and rescue team are currently on the scene to assist with the retrieval of the body," Otto said.

Police said it is alleged that Lesenya’s 38-year-old mother - a police sergeant - and her boyfriend had had an argument the previous day and the that their relationship had come to an end.

"The boy was last seen in the company of the boyfriend on the day he went missing."
