Cape Town – The case of the woman who went missing on Table Mountain has been handed over to police, Wilderness Search and Rescue said on Wednesday.
“I have no additional information at this stage, police are busy investigating the incident,” spokesperson Johann Marais said.
“The police will let us know if they require any additional assistance from us.”
The woman went missing on Tuesday after starting a hike up Platteklip Gorge around midday. She apparently SMSed her husband at 13:00, saying she would be turning back, but was not heard from again.
Marais said on Wednesday morning that SANParks rangers had been on patrol throughout the night.
“We also sent people up and down that area early this morning. Groups heading up are also being made aware to look out for her," Marais said.
