R1.2m dagga bust at KZN petrol station

Durban - Dagga with an estimated street value of R1.2m was confiscated at a petrol station near Cato Ridge in the early hours of Thursday morning, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Six people were arrested after police and a security company acted on a tip-off that a truck, car and bakkie were being used to transport dagga from Durban to Cape Town, Major Thulani Zwane said in a statement.

They found the vehicles parked at a petrol station along the N3 between Hammarsdale and Cato Ridge.

A total of 17 bags of dagga were found in the truck and the bakkie. The six, aged between 25 and 35, were expected to appear in the Mpumalanga Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
