Woman's body found in shopping trolley in Durban

Durban – KwaZulu-Natal police are investigating the death of an unknown woman who was found in a shopping trolley on the M4 Ruth First Highway on Tuesday.

KZN police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said on Wednesday Durban North police were investigating a case of murder after the woman’s body was discovered.

Private security company Marshall Security said in a Facebook post a suspicious man was seen pushing a shopping trolley with what appeared to be a person inside at around 23:00.

When officers approached the man he fled across the highway and into a dense bush.

The officers inspected the abandoned trolley and discovered the body of a deceased female, about the age of 30, with a wound on her head.
