Kimberley – The chopped up body of a woman was on Friday found in a shallow grave at Soul City in Galeswewe, Northern Cape police said.
A 39-year-old man, believed to be the woman’s partner, was arrested shortly after the gruesome discovery, said Lieutenant Olebogeng Tawana.
He said the arrest came after an intensive search, in partnership with the local councillor and community members.
Tawana said the body was found stashed in a carry bag in a shallow grave in an open field.
"On the April 17, the man reported his partner as a missing person at Kagisho police station. He informed the police that he last saw her on April 13," said Tawana.
The man was expected to appear in the Galeshewe Magistrate’s Court on May 3.
