Pretoria - Oscar Pistorius’s lawyers are seeking leave to challenge Judge Thokozile Masipa’s decision to give the State the right to appeal her finding that he was guilty of the culpable homicide of Reeva Steenkamp, according to reports.
The athlete’s lawyers will argue that Masipa was wrong to find that her culpable homicide conviction involved a question of law, tweeted eNCA reporter Karyn Maughan.
Last week, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) gave notice of its intention to appeal Pistorius's conviction.
#OscarPistorius lawyers want right to argue state can't appeal his culp conviction - as he wasn't acquitted of all charges re Reeva's death

#OscarPistorius’ lawyers will appeal on basis that State’s appeal relies on fact, not law. It is said the papers will be filed on 13 March.
