ANCYL delegates booed at conference

Johannesburg - Gauteng delegates at the ANC Youth League consultative conference on Wednesday booed because they would not be voting for new leaders.

The noisy group arrived at the conference late and continued to be disruptive while messages of support were being read out.

The delegates also kept shouting "Pule".

Former ANCYL treasurer Pule Mabe was the province's favourite to lead the league, however, on Tuesday the national task team (NTT) announced that the conference would no longer be an elective one.

The Gauteng delegates sang "lead us Pule".

NTT convenor Mzwandile Masina was sent to speak to the group of delegates asking them to be disciplined.
