Bloemfontein - Free State Premier Ace Magashule removed economic development, tourism and environmental affairs MEC Nxolisi Dukwane from the executive on Wednesday.
Dukwane was left out in a reshuffle of the provincial executive council.
Magashule appointed Olly Mlamleli as the new MEC for corporate governance, traditional affairs and human settlement.
The former MEC for this department, Mamiki Qabathe, was moved to replace Dukwane at economic development.
Free State government spokesperson Wisani Ngobeni said Mlamleli was chairperson of the portfolio committee on corporate governance, traditional affairs and human settlements in the Free State legislature.
Ngobeni gave no reason why Dukwane was dropped from the Free State executive council.
