Zuma admits health took a knock

Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma on Sunday admitted that his health took a knock after the national elections in May, but said he had since recovered.

In a pre-recorded "end of the year" interview with the SABC, the 72-year-old said he was in "over-drive" mode during the vigorous pre-election campaigns.

"I couldn't say my health was in a perfect condition," Zuma said, adding that he had overworked himself.

Doctors said he was fatigued and advised him to take it easy.

He said he was now in good health.
