What with the world's attention being focused on a string of uncanny tragic airplane accidents lately, we're sure everyone - from pilots to ground control staff - must be feeling a measure of extra pressure.
A newly released audio clip featuring a heated conversation between a Delta Airlines pilot and air traffic controller at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has been doing the rounds on the internet, giving a tiny bit of a peek into the building tension.
The Daily Mail reports that the conversation apparently took place just as the pilot landed his aircraft on... ahem... the wrong runway.
Also watch this near-miss between two planes at Barcelona airport.
When the cool and calm air traffic controller points out his mistake, the pilot snaps at him sarcastically saying: "Like, oh my God, there's another plane out there like six miles away."
The exchange escalates from here, ending with the air traffic controller quipping: "Settle down, Captain Happy."
Give it a listen here... and then spare a thought to all of those who are doing their best to get you through your travels safely next time you're on a plane.
