Wow. Gross!
Daily Mail reports that passengers and crew aboard a Delta Airlines flight from Beijing to Detroit were forced to flee the scene (and the smell) when a Chinese family not only allowed, but encouraged, their youngster to relieve himself in his seat.
They even laid newspapers out for him and everything!
While cabin crew begged the parents to take him to the cabin to the toilet, the boy’s grandparents – who were also part of the travelling party – insisted that he do his business in the comfort of their row.
Disgusted passengers took to social media to complain about the incident.
Chinese social network Weibo lit up with users expressing their revulsion and disappointment in the incident. Many apparently said that the family had disgraced the Chinese public with their behaviour.
This comes after a major campaign launched by the Chinese government last year to try and clean up the image of their citizens displaying particularly 'uncivilised behaviour' while travelling.
In late 2013 image conscious Chinese authorities published an etiquette handbook for travellers, advising tourists not to pick their noses in public, pee in pools or steal airplane life jackets.
What do you think - was family's behaviour uncalled for or were they just trying to keep their toddler comfortable?
