If you look at it from this particular angle, one can’t deny that pilots must be spoilt for choice with magnificent views from the top. The cockpit has given pilots the opportunity to see the world in ways that some can only dream of.

While thunderstorms are terrifying on land, can you imagine what it’s like to see thunderstorm while in the air? Luckily, airplanes are built to handle lightning strikes, and so are pilots, so much so that they can even capture videos of these scary yet strangely beautiful thunderstorms.

One of the most beautiful things about the cockpit is the views you get to experience at night time. It is here that you get to see the intricacies of many city road networks and lights.

The origin of the term “cockpit’” is not truly known. Some have linked it to as far back as Shakespearean times where “cockpit” was the place in which actors would perform their plays, in a “pit like” area. Looking now to more modern times, the name has been used in cars, boats and other fields.

Airplanes follow “invisible” highways in the sky and follow thousands of virtual points to make it to their destination. Thank you technology!

Can you imagine how awesome a selfie in the cockpit would be? Some people have had the opportunity to take exclusive selfies in the cockpit with the pilots. As amazing as this sounds, following terrorist and plane hijackings in aviation history, getting into the cockpit isn’t as easy as it once was.
