Something Breanna Mitchell aka @PrincessBMM didn’t keep in mind when she recently posted a photo of herself at Auschwitz Concentration Camp on Twitter.
While there’s probably nothing wrong with that as such, the fact that she had a massive grin on her face, had the Twitterverse up in arms.
Daily Mail reports that the photograph was retweeted more than 3 000 times along with hundreds of messages airing shock and dismay at the recent high school graduate’s insensitivity.
While Mitchell originally stated that she wished people would stop paying attention to her tweet, she soon changed her tune, interpreting the sudden burst of interest as an instant gateway to fame.
“Over 2 000 retweets on a pic that wasn’t meant to get this much attention,” she tweeted.
This was followed shortly by an article link accompanied by her words: “I’m famous yall.”
Mitchell claims she took the photo after studying the Holocaust for years with her father, who died a year ago.
She said: 'That trip actually meant something to me and I was happy about it,' she tweeted, explaining the reasoning behind the smiling selfie.' Her account has in the mean time been set to private.
