Soweto - There is huge traffic congestion on highways and roads leading to the FNB stadium, despite road closures that were put into effect on Monday for former president Nelson Mandela's memorial service. Watch the live streaming of the Nelson Mandela Memorial Service here
The Sowetan reports that Gold Reef Park and Ride is full. People have been advised to go to Westgate and Simmonds Street and UJ Kingsway. The reports states that PUTCO buses will now go to FNB Stadium and drop off people at Shareworld.
Metrorail or PUTCO buses have been made available free of charge for people headed to the memorial service.
Mourners are being advised to note where they are being dropped off in order to be picked up at the same place.
People started entering the FNB Stadium from 6am on Tuesday morning.
A large crowd was singing and blowing whistles earlier "Agenda ya makapitali asiyifune ya bulala u Madiba [Agenda of capitalists we do not want it, it killed Madiba]," in honour of South Africa's first democratically elected president.
