Beeld reports that William Mabasa, spokesperson for the park, stated that they had received reports of the incident at Crocodile Bridge rest camp on Thursday.
He told the paper that a pride of lions had been lying in the road when a female driver tried to make them move.
One got irritated and jumped up, swiping her car with his claws.
The driver apparently rushed off before anyone in the surrounding vehicles could take down her registration number.
Mabasa said that the park is urgently looking for details about the incident and has asked tourists to contact them regarding it.
EWN reports that the woman could face a fine and may even be banned from the park for at least a year.
A number of similar incidents have taken place in the park over the past few months – perhaps the most reported incident being the one where an elephant in musth attacked and rolled a vehicle that had gotten too close for comfort.
