After three years of war with extremist group, ISIS, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, declared victory over Islamic State forces in Mosul.
The old city is left in ruins after the war against ISIS. Among the demolished buildings are the symbolic Grand al-Nuri Mosque, and al-Hadba minaret.
Iraqi forces launched a campaign to recapture Mosul in October 2016, after the terror group took control of more than 2.5 million people in the city.
