Tel Aviv - Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired a mortar shell late on Tuesday toward Israel in the first such hostilities since a ceasefire took effect three weeks ago, the Israeli army said.
The shell fell into a border area, causing no casualties or damage, the military said.
Palestinian militants fired more than 4 500 rockets toward Israel during the 50-day Gaza conflict, in which more than 2 100 Palestinians and 70 Israelis were killed.
