IAEA: Iran broadly complying with nuclear deal

Washington - The International Atomic Energy Agency reports that Iran is broadly complying with agreements on curtailing its nuclear programme in its first update since last month's deal between Tehran and world powers.

The IAEA says Iran's level of uranium enrichment, nuclear research and development and other activity is in line with its declarations. The update covers work done before the deal was signed in July.

A copy of the document was obtained on Thursday by The Associated Press.

The report expresses some reservations about the military site of Parchin, where such work may have occurred.

It says the agency has recently observed this site through satellite imagery vehicles, equipment and probable construction materials. It says activity at the site since February 2012 has likely undermined the IAEA's ability to "conduct effective verification".
