Jerusalem - Jerusalem police vowed "zero tolerance" Thursday towards any violence as they fanned out across the city after a baby was killed in a car attack on a crowd by a Palestinian.
Clashes broke out in several areas of annexed east Jerusalem and raged late into the night after a young Palestinian rammed his car into people waiting for a tram on Wednesday.
Six other people were wounded in the incident.
Police warned they would not tolerate any further outbreak of the violence which has gripped the eastern part of the city on an almost daily basis for the past four months.
"Jerusalem police emphasises that it will demonstrate zero tolerance towards any incident of violence and will put its hand on anyone who disturbs public order in the city and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law," police spokesperson Luba Samri said in a statement.
