Man sought in San Francisco body parts case

San Francisco - Police in San Francisco appealed to the public on Friday for help finding a "person of interest" in a gruesome case involving chopped-up human body parts.

Police discovered a man's headless torso stuffed in a suitcase near the entrance to a charity shop in the city's gentrifying South of Market district on Wednesday afternoon.

Other body parts were found wrapped in plastic bags in garbage bins nearby, but police are still searching for the body's head, lower arms and hands, local media reported.

San Francisco police investigators published surveillance camera photos of a Caucasian man with long graying hair and a beard they described as a "person of interest", adding that they believe he might be a transient.
