Brussels - Hungary does not want to host large Muslim communities, Prime Minister Viktor Orban says, citing the country's 150-year history of Ottoman rule during the 16th and 17th Century as a reason.
"I think we have a right to decide that we do not want a large number of Muslim people in our country," Orban tells journalists in Brussels, adding: "We do not like the consequences."
Hungary's "historical experiences" set the country apart from others, he adds.
