Russian man goes on killing spree

Moscow - Russian investigators are searching for a man suspected of killing and dismembering his six young children. His wife also was missing and reported dead, and police said that a woman believed to be his mother was found dead as well.

The federal Investigative Committee said in a statement that the dismembered remains of the children, all under the age of 6, were discovered on Tuesday in the family's apartment in the city of Nizhny Novgorod.

The state news agency Tass, citing sources in law enforcement, said a body believed to be that of his pregnant wife also was found in the apartment.

Police in the neighbouring Vladimir region, where the suspect was from, said they found the remains of a woman believed to be his mother.

Investigators identified the suspect as Oleg Belov.
