Berlin - A spring storm cut major German rail lines for several hours early on Monday and caused road crashes after trees were toppled.
National rail company Deutsche Bahn said two main lines, from Berlin to Wolfsburg and from Hamburg to Hanover, were cut during the night when falling branches brought down overhead electric wires. Trains were detoured and ran up to 100 minutes late.
The damage was repaired and lines were reopened.
