Washington - The United States on Tuesday urged Russia to destroy all weapons banned under a series of pacts, warning that Moscow is in "violation of its obligations" under a 1987 treaty.
"We encourage Russia to return to compliance with its obligations under the treaty and to eliminate any prohibited items in a verifiable manner," State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said.
She added that Moscow had committed not to possess, produce or flight test a ground launch cruise missile with a range of capability of 500km to 5 500km.
