UPDATE 23:52 28 dead 60 injured
Two South Africans who were at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport when the suicide bombers struck have given a harrowing account of what happened.
CNN is reporting that there appeared to be three attackers and three blasts which resulted in 28 dead and 60 injured.
Nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack.

UPDATE 23:15: Turkish officials have raised the death toll to 28. There are also conflicting reports about the number of attackers involved, with some reports saying two and others three.
UPDATE 23:07 10 dead, 60 injured
At least 10 people were killed on Tuesday evening in a suicide attack at the international terminal of Istanbul's Ataturk airport, Turkish Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said.
Two explosions hit the airport - Turkey's biggest - followed by gunfire, local television channels reported.
"Unfortunately 10 people have been killed according to a preliminary toll," Bozdag told parliament in Ankara.
More than a dozen ambulances raced to the international terminal of Ataturk airport, CNN-Turk said.

UPDATE 22:40: Turkish reporter Suna Vidinli has tweeted that new information shows that there were three separate explosions.
UPDATE 22:38: AP reports - Another official, who did not wish to be identified, said there had been two attackers, who had detonated explosives at the entrance of the international terminal after police fired at them.
He said they blew themselves up before entering the X-ray security check at the airport entrance.

UPDATE: 22:24: Turkey's justice minister Bekir Bozdag confirms 10 people are dead and 20 wounded, AP reports.
He says according to preliminary information, "a terrorist at the international terminal entrance first opened fire with a Kalashnikov and then blew himself up".

UPDATE 22:17: Flights that were due to head to Atakurk have been diverted to Istanbul's other international airport, says al-Jazeera.

LATEST at 22:08: CNN is reporting that more than 20 people have been injured. The bombers targeted the international terminal. Istanbul is massively popular with tourists.
Istanbul - Turkish police fired at two suspects who then blew up bombs strapped to themselves, CNN quoted an official as saying after blasts rocked Istanbul's Ataturk airport.
CNN is also now reporting that at least 10 people were killed.
CNN reported that the explosions were at the international terminal. Atakurk is Europe's third-largest airport.
Turkish media reported the sound of gunfire at the scene.
Turkey has suffered several bombings in recent months linked to Kurdish or Islamic State group militants, AP reported.
