WATCH: Man in Zorro costume detained at LAX

Los Angeles – A video on Twitter has emerged showing police arresting a man dressed as Zorro, armed with a plastic sword, outside one of the terminals at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Six police officers can be seen converging on the man in the video as he lies on the floor with his arms spread.

The man – clad in a Zorro costume – can be heard shouting: “It’s a plastic sword."

A woman out of the shot could also be heard saying: “He didn’t do anything."

Police say no gunman has been found and no shots were fired at LAX after reports of an active shooter brought a scare to hundreds of travellers.

Los Angeles police spokesperson Andy Neiman said on Sunday night that the reports were spurred by loud noises only, and police are still investigating to find the source of them.

Airport police say traffic to the terminal area had been closed.
