Strand police are investigating a murder following the discovery of a body near a dam in Nomzamo last week.
According to Warrant Officer Nico Beukes, spokesperson for Strand police, officers discovered the body of an unknown man next to a small dam near New Village in Nomzamo. He added DNA tests would be done.
Beukes, however, confirmed the autopsy revealed that the man was 32 years old at time of death and his death was possibly the result of a fractured skull. No weapons were found on the scene and no suspect had been arrested, and Strand police are searching for leads.

- Grabouw police detectives are busy unravelling the murder mystery of an unidentified man who died at the Grabouw Day Hospital as result of multiple stab wounds. Sergeant Abigail Naidoo, spokesperson for police in the Overberg District, reported the police were called out to the healthcare facility on Sunday 14 April about 19:45. On their arrival a doctor pointed out the body of the adult man with multiple stab wounds to the upper body. “It is still unknown how, where and by whom the injuries were inflicted,” Naidoo stated. “Enquiries about the man’s identity are also being made. No arrest has been made and the investigation continues.”
