Just two weeks after DA municipal ward 4 councillor, and mayoral committee member, Jaques Alexander survived after being shot at in broad daylight outside the Kouga Municipality main building in Da Gama Road, Jeffreys Bay, his two sons were shot at outside a tavern in Pellsrus on March 17.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, it is alleged that at about 00:45 on March 17, two brothers aged 19 and 24 years old were outside a tavern in Pellsrus in Jeffrey Bay when they were shot by an unknown suspect.
“Both brothers sustained a gunshot wound to their stomachs and were rushed to hospital for treatment,” said Naidu.
She confirmed that the two brothers are the sons of Alexander who was shot at on February 29, where he sustained multiple injuries to his back.
Naidu said that the four suspects who were swiftly arrested after the shooting incident on February 29, are remanded in custody.
As previously reported by Kouga Express, Luxolo Tyali, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson said that suspects Mthumzi Lani, Lutho Mbatha, Luciano Jacobs and Athenkosi Gidane abandoned their bid for bail during their March 8 court appearance.
