Brighter Futures Foundation, in partnership with Pegg Events Management, is thrilled to extend a heartfelt invitation to a special fundraising event scheduled for Freedom Day, 27 April. The event will take place at Klein Nederburg Secondary School in Newman Street, Paarl, from 10:00 to 18:00.

The primary focus of this event is to rally support for two remarkable Grade R pupils, Zavion Louw and Matthew Fortuin, who are bravely facing physical challenges. Zavion requires a prosthetic eye, while Matthew needs a prosthetic leg. The event organisers operate on the premise that the local community is a compassionate one that aims to raise funds to provide the boys with these essential prostheses and cover their ongoing medical expenses. They believe the impact made in securing a brighter future for these resilient young boys will be immense.

The day promises to be filled with wholesome activities suitable for the whole family. Highlights include jumping castles, live entertainment featuring renowned artists, a captivating car show, a thrilling sound-off competition, and an enchanting Puppet Show plus beloved Marvel characters and stars from the TV series “Ouma Sarie”.

Additionally, those attending can partake in retro indigenous games such as kennetjie, skaloeloe, drie blikkies, and more.

For those with a competitive spirit there will be a tug of war challenge between Bikers, Firemen and Rugby Clubs, along with a 5-aside Football Tournament.

Admission to the event is free, and those attending are encouraged to bring their family and friends.A nominal R50 corkage charge will apply for cooler boxes, with all proceeds directly contributing to the fundraiser. Guests can participate in games for a R10 entry fee, with great prizes up for grabs.

Various food, drink and merchandise vendors will be present, offering a diverse array of products and services. Support on the day is paramount in ensuring the success of the event.

As the day transitions into the evening, those attending are invited to join a delightful Dance in the School Hall from 19:00 to 23:30. Tickets for the dance are priced at R50, with a corkage fee of R100 per cooler box. Once again, all proceeds are for the good cause.

Unite as a community to support Zavion, Matthew and their families at this challenging time. The organisers eagerly anticipate your presence and the positive impact everyone can collectively make in these very young lives.
