Cricket Eastern Cape will open the gates of Dafabet St George’s Park to all Dafabet Warriors fans on Sunday, April 21 to help the home team regain its lead at the top of the CSA T20 log.
“The squad’s spirits and energy in the camp are really high,” says captain Matthew Breetzke.
“We are not too worried about the two losses.
“For me, this happens and it’s T20 cricket.
“We know what we can do at our best and we will be aiming to bring our A game come semi-final time,” he says
“As a thank you to the loyal fans of the Dafabet Warriors and to give the team a real home ground advantage we have decided to allow free entry on Sunday,” says Leigh Deyzel of the Dafabet St George’s Park Cricket Stadium.
“All fans need to do is come to the stadium ticket office on Sunday and collect a free ticket”
After leading for much of the series, the squad is now one point behind the DP World Lions.
On Sunday Dafabet Warriors play the Hollywood Bets Dolphins in the last of the round robin matches, which will determine the teams for the semi-finals.
Warriors won by seven wickets with 35 balls to spare when the teams met on March 10.
Dolphins are now third on the log with 32 points compared to the 39 of Warriors.
The game starts at 14:00, and the gates will be open from 13:00.
Dafabet Warriors meet the North West Dragons in Potchefstroom on Friday night before coming home to St George’s.
Looking ahead to the game bowler Alfred Mothoa says “we won eight games in a row and had the right formula.
“We are polishing off some key skills and hoping to get back into our winning way.
“We are in touching distance of being in the semi-final and are fighting to get a home semi-final,” he says.
Warriors won their last clash on March 24 by 24 runs.
