One person died and 13 others were seriously injured after two trucks collided on the R27 near Koberg Power Station Tuesday morning, 12 March.
Jermaine Carelse, spokesperson for the City’s Fire and Rescue Service, said an emergency call was received at approximately 09:45 about an accident on the R27 West Coast Road, near the Brakkenfontein turn-off, about 2 km from Koeberg Power Station.

“The officer on the scene confirmed two trucks had collided,” he said, “but a MyCiTi bus and light delivery vehicle were also involved. Both drivers of the trucks were seriously injured, one later succumbing to his injuries.”
The driver of the second truck was treated and 12 other patients were transported to hospital.
The cause of the accident was still unknown pending an investigation by police.
