UPDATE | Kidnappers demand ransom for Lu Xiao

Captain Yolisa Mgolodela, spokesperson for the Hawks, verifies that Lu Xiao, abducted last week on April 10th, has been subjected to a ransom demand by those holding him captive.

As previously reported by the UD Express, Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, stated that at around 17:40, Lu Xiao was abducted outside his workplace at the Uitenhage mall. Two unidentified men forcibly took him and placed him into a white Isuzu double cab before driving away.

Naidu also added that his vehicle, a his white VW Crafter minibus was driven away by the other suspect.

The motive for the kidnapping is still unclear.
