Investigations into allegations of grand corruption against the Johannesburg Property Company (JPC) CEO, Helen Botes, have all but collapsed as resistance and interference could see wrongdoing swept under the carpet.
For the past two years, missing documents, uncooperative employees, threats and intimidation have culminated in investigators being unable to finalise their probe, leading to the instability of the entity as a whole.
This is according to the latest investigation report, from August 2022, by law firm Kunene Ramapala Incorporated (KR-Inc), which probed the irregular R18 million Covid-19 deep cleaning and sanitation contract, as well as irregularities around project management and promotion practices at JPC.
