The secretive Sudanese businessman who paid about R10 million in cash in US dollars to a manager of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm says the entire deal was an "absolutely normal business transaction".

This is according to Yousra Elbagir, a journalist covering Africa for Sky News, who spoke to Hazim Mustafa over the phone. Elbagir and her producer Vauldi Carelse secured an interview with Mustafa, which was published on Monday.

Mustafa’s name was first revealed by Ramaphosa in his submission to the Office of the Public Protector.
