An Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) probe into a shadowy plot to sway the outcome of the ANC's 2017 Nasrec elective conference – alleged to have been orchestrated by actors in the police and its Crime Intelligence Division in a cash-for-votes scandal – has been given a shot in the arm.
On Friday, Pretoria High Court Judge Norman Davis ordered that national police commissioner Khehla Sitole declassify and hand over a trove of procurement documents which have, for three years, been held out of reach of the cop watchdog.
