If talks towards Hamas releasing hostages and the implementation of a ceasefire in Palestine fail, there will be an "unbelievable tragedy and catastrophe", says International Relations and Cooperation Minister Naledi Pandor.
Addressing the National Assembly on Tuesday afternoon, Pandor expressed her concern about the situation in Palestine.
There was an urgent need for South Africa, particularly Parliament, to show solidarity with the people of Palestine and to call for "humanitarian aid to be allowed in to avoid a situation where we see thousands dying on the street due to starvation", she said.
