The former chairperson of the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) has been dragged into the controversy over an ANC Women's League's (ANCWL) elective conference at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC), which was nearly paid for with public funds.
IEC commissioner Glen Mashinini is also the chairperson of the ICC board.
According to ActionSA, the ANCWL had an agreement with the ICC to host the conference there in August.
