The criminal case of a 21-year-old man accused of raping a 15-year-old girl who is deaf and mute has been delayed several times because DNA analysis is outstanding.

The accused, who cannot be named until he has pleaded to the charges, appeared in the Moretele Temba Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

When the case was first called, the accused was not in court. The matter was then stood down, and the accused appeared later.
