  • A Cape Town man has bagged more than R21 million in the latest Lotto Jackpot draw.
  • The man has previously won "small" amounts.
  • He plans on making "significant changes" to his life.

A Cape Town man has become the latest National Lotto jackpot winner after bagging more than R21 million on Saturday, 28 October, following his ticket purchase on the FNB online banking app.

In a statement this week, Ithuba said the lucky winner scooped a life-changing sum of R21 356 279.20.

Ithuba's chief executive officer, Charmaine Mabuza, said they were overjoyed for the Lotto Plus 1 winner.

In an inspiring turn of events, the winner said although he had previously won "small amounts" in the past, his unyielding belief and perseverance finally paid off in an extraordinary way.

"This win is a testament to the power of hope of the National Lottery.

"The lucky winner has expressed a desire to use this windfall to make significant changes not only in his life but in the lives of others," said Ithuba.

It said the man planned to invest a portion of his winnings in property and embark on an entrepreneurial journey by starting his own business in the field of emergency healthcare services.

Furthermore, the winner intends to give back by making generous donations to various charities.

"This act of kindness reflects the spirit of Ubuntu and the positive impact the National Lottery continues to have on winners and communities alike," Ithuba said.

Mabuza said the latest millionaire's story was one of resilience and hope.

"We are proud to have played a role in this life-changing moment and are excited to see the winner's plans unfold, positively impacting his life and those around him," she said.

Ithuba congratulated the winner and wished him the best in his future endeavours.
