'Dazed' stowaways' fate plays out in court after spending weeks aboard MSC vessel with 'no sunlight'

Two stowaways who spent almost a month at sea as they tried to make their way to Europe aboard a Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) vessel now find themselves facing an uncertain future in South Africa after the Western Cape High Court ruled they disembark and be charged in Cape Town.

According to court papers News24 has seen, the two were transferred at sea from the MSC England onto the MSC Anzu on 25 April after they were discovered on the former vessel.

Emails contained in the court papers revealed that staff of the Anzu were becoming concerned both for their own safety and the well-being of the two men, who are believed to be Tanzanian.
