Electoral bosses are sticking to their guns on the controversial reopening of candidate registrations, arguing that the voters’ roll was unsealed when the October local government election proclamation was set aside.
The move paves the way for more voter and candidate registrations as South Africans are now entitled to register until 20 September 2021.
Furthermore, registration entitles a voter to be included on the roll, vote, nominate candidates, and stand for public office.
