Residents of some of the country's major metros will have to dig deeper into their pockets after councils proposed new tariff increases for property rates, electricity, water, sanitation, and refuse removal services.
Major metros in the country have tabled their draft budget proposals for the 2024/25 financial year, and some have been forced to introduce further tariff increases.
The City of Johannesburg's budget is set to increase from R80.9 billion to R83 billion in the new financial year.
