Family members of Farhad Hoomer, said to be the alleged head of an Islamic State (ISIS) group cell in Durban, are the latest to have sanctions imposed on them by the United States authorities.
The US treasury department on Monday said it was sanctioning four people, including Nufael Akbar and Yunus Mohamad Akbar, who it said were linked to Hoomer, and eight companies linked to the Akbars.
Also linked to the companies and Hoomer are Mohamed Akbar and Umar Akbar — all alleged members of an ISIS cell.
