A man died in a head-on collision between a bakkie and a truck in Mpumalanga on Tuesday.
The man, who was in his 50s, died when the bakkie he was driving was involved in a head-on collision with a truck on the R42 in Delmas, according to a statement from ER24.
"Paramedics were on scene at 11:41. The truck had apparently collided with the bakkie some 50 metres down the road and had pushed the bakkie over the trailer it had been towing. The entrapped driver of the bakkie had unfortunately already succumbed to his fatal injuries and was declared dead..." the statement read.

The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was found walking around on the scene. He was treated and transported to a private hospital for further care.
"The Fire Department arrived to extract the driver and the scene was handed over to the South African Police Service," ER24 said.
