A message from a mystery sender to the cellphone of one of the six men implicated in the murder of Kaizer Chiefs player Luke Fleurs instructed the accused to confess to the crime, the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court heard on Thursday.

According to the statement of investigating officer Sergeant Nare Bennedict Moloto, the message was discovered on Franky Xaba's cellphone on 9 April, when the men were arrested.

"This communication was to the effect that if the applicants get arrested, they must confess to the crime because if they do not, 'their' names will come out and they will also be arrested," Moloto said in his statement.
